Advocate in the State Budget

 

Medicaid:

Many people in Wisconsin are very woman in a wheelchairconcerned about proposals to dramatically change Medicaid programs. People with I/DD in Wisconsin rely on Medicaid supports through a variety of programs like BadgerCare, ForwardHealth, personal care, Family Care, IRIS, Katie Beckett, Children’s Long-Term Supports, MAPP and more. Education: 

Many parents are reporting significant erosion of special education supports for students with disabilities across Wisconsin. Go here to read the Survival Coalition’s report and find recommendations you can share with your policymakers.

 

Employment: 

Wisconsin has recently passed an Employment First law. Next steps involve implementation. Transportation:

Supporting Families: 

Wisconsin has a comprehensive system of supports for families caring for a loved one with disabilities, yet many families are not connected to supports and find the system difficult to navigate. The Wisconsin Family and Caregiver Support Alliance developed this policy brief and set of recommendations to better meet the needs of underserved families.
