There are many financial planning tools out there, but what works best for families with a loved one with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) can be hard to figure out. When you factor in complicated public benefit programs and income limits, try to determine who can work outside the home and how much they can earn, it is easy to want to give up or to put planning off.
That’s the worst thing you can do! When it comes to Financing the Future, planning is key.
The Arc Wisconsin has worked with our friends at Parent University to share the new tool Future Planning: Financing the Future with excellent questions to ask and things to think about when it comes to money coming into your household and how to maximize every dollar for a secure future. Check it out!
And thanks to Parent University’s Delores Sallis for her wisdom in creating this important resource for her son Albert and thousands of other families.
