The Arc is part of an annual conference called the Disability Policy Seminar – it is the premier opportunity to cultivate champions in Washington and advance the grassroots movement for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
2017 was a tumultuous year in Washington for disability rights. Congress repeatedly attempted to cut and cap Medicaid, and repeal the Affordable Care Act, but was met with resistance from the disability community at every turn. We won those battles together, thanks to your advocacy, energy, and persistence!
But the fight isn’t over. We need you in Washington, DC to share your story and advocate for the programs that people with disabilities rely on to make a life in community possible. The Disability Policy Seminar is your chance to make an impact!
The event is packed with informative sessions from experts in the field, and opportunities to discuss key issues with others from your state. Armed with valuable information, the event culminates with the attendees converging on Capitol Hill to speak directly to our representatives about the high-priority issues that affect you most.
We need more advocates like you in Washington April 23-25 so that we can show Senators Johnson and Baldwin, and our members of the House of Representatives, including Speaker Paul Ryan, the power of the disability community in Wisconsin!
Let’s do this together. Enter to join me in Washington, DC April 23-25. Entering to win is free.
Hope to see you in DC!
